Monterey Park Wood Flooring is a hardwood flooring company serving Monterey Park, California, with more than 20 years of experience sanding, repairing, staining and installing wood floors. Our Approach

We start underneath. On a raised foundation, the floor is checked from the crawl space before a sanding is quoted, because a sloping or bouncy floor is often a joist, post or subfloor problem that a fresh finish would only hide. Small holes and pellet piles are identified as drywood termite evidence or ruled out before any board is replaced, and on engineered floors the wear layer is measured before a sanding is promised, since a thin veneer can take a recoat but not a full sand.

We check the house as well as the floor. The build year is confirmed before any sanding is scheduled, and homes from before 1978 are handled under the federal lead-safe renovation rule. Finishes are chosen from products legal to apply in the South Coast air district rather than from a national catalog, and stain colors are tested on your own sanded boards, in the room’s own light, before the whole floor is committed. Herringbone and chevron layouts are dry-laid and centered on the room before the first slat is fastened.

We also write things down. Stairs are quoted by the tread, riser and nosing rather than folded into a square-foot price. Occupied homes get a room-by-room schedule showing when furniture, rugs and family can come back. Water losses are documented with photos and moisture readings an adjuster can use, with the repair written as matching board and finish rather than a patch, and invoices are itemized so a landlord can attach them to a security deposit statement.
